12 Days of YA Book Recommendations: Day 6 – Contemporary Standalones

12 days - theheartofabookblogger

On the sixth day of YA book recommendations, I am sharing my favorite contemporary standalones!

emmy & oliver - theheartofabookblogger

I loved Emmy & Oliver. Loved it! This book is so much more than a romance—it was about family, friendship, and moving on. This was such a heartwarming read, and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to read about great friendships and complex family relationships. Full review here.

a little something - theheartofabookblogger

I adored A Little Something Different so, so much. It was just full of cuteness and little heart flutters all around. I loved how the story was told through fourteen different point of views, none of which were the two main characters! Sandy Hall did a wonderful job of telling Lea and Gabe’s story through the many fun POVs. If you’re looking for a cute, fluffy read, A Little Something Different is the book for you!

truth about forever - theheartofabookblogger

The Truth About Forever is my favorite Sarah Dessen novel (of the ones I have read). I love how Sarah’s novels deal with tough issues and that they aren’t just all about the romance. However, that’s not saying that I don’t enjoy those parts. I loved the romance in The Truth About Forever, but I also loved the friendships and family dynamics in the book as well. If you’ve been meaning to get into Sarah Dessen novels, The Truth About Forever is definitely a great start!
