On the second day of YA book recommendations, I am sharing two of my favorite steampunk trilogies!
The Something Strange & Deadly trilogy by Susan Dennard is fabulous. The storyline is very unique and different from anything I’ve read before. I didn’t know what to think when I first read that the series deals with zombies, but Susan does a fantastic job with them and I love that aspect of the series. I also love how each book takes place in a new setting—Philadelphia, France, and Egypt! The characters are well-developed, and I adore Eleanor and her sass and fearlessness. Also, Daniel is one of my many favorite book boyfriends! During the re-read-along that took place a few months ago, I contributed two discussion posts that you can find here and here.
The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare has my all time favorite love triangle. I absolutely love the dynamic between Tessa, Will, and Jem. Even though I still love Jem, Will is definitely my top book boyfriend (which says a lot since I pretty much gain a new one after each book I read). This is a phenomenal series and the ending is great (I don’t often cry while reading, but I definitely did cry during a certain part of the epilogue). Plus, my favorite quote is in Clockwork Princess! I even used it as my senior quote for my school’s yearbook.
