On the eighth day of YA book recommendations, I’m sharing a historical fiction free verse novel!
If you are looking for a feminist historical fiction novel, Blood Water Paint is for you. It tells the haunting and powerful story of Artemisia Gentileschi, a famous Italian painter in the 17th century. Told through free verse poetry, this novel will transport you to a different time that still feels similar to our own (especially with the #MeToo movement still fresh on all of our minds).

I love The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. My Plain Jane is also really great! I still haven’t read Blood, Water, Paint but it’s top on my TBR!
Lovely post Jordan! ❤
Thank you, Taiwo! I’ve hear amazing things abut The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and need to read it!
