Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery — 4 stars
After binge-watching the Anne of Green Gables tv movies for the first time all in one day (and then watching Netflix’s Anne with an E the next weekend), I knew I needed to read the books to immerse myself further into Anne’s world. I really enjoyed reading the source material and seeing the the different parts the different adaptations have taken from the book. I was disappointed that there wasn’t as much Gilbert as I was hoping for, but I still plan on reading the rest of the series.
My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff — 4.5 stars
My New Crush Gave To Me is the perfect holiday rom-com. Shani Petroff does a fantastic job of bringing in the winter and holiday vibes, and it was the perfect book to get me into the Christmas spirit. The romance is adorable, and I really enjoyed watching the relationship develop slowly. I also connected with Charlie’s Type A personality (although she is way more intense than I am) and appreciated this aspect of her character. Read my full review here!
Can’t wait to read My New Crush Gave to Me. It’s on my schedule to read next week.
For What It’s Worth
Yay! I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Pretty sure Gilbert gets a LOT more attention in the subsequent books. In the first book he feels more like a catalyst against Anne than anything else.
I’m so glad to hear that! Thanks, Cassie!
My New Crush Gave To Me is on my list to read this month! I hope I love it as much as you did <3
