12 Days of YA Book Recommendations: Day 6 – Rom-Coms

12 Days of YA Book Recommendations

On the sixth day of YA book recommendations, I’m recommending three swoonworthy rom-coms!

Today Tonight Tomorrow

If you love rivals-to-lovers rom-coms, Today Tonight Tomorrow  is a must-add to your TBRs! This 24 hours, rivals-to-lovers rom-com is SO FUN, and I loved every second of it! Even though this takes place on the last day of school, Rachel Lynn Solomon captures Rowan and Neil’s four-year rivalry so clearly. Their banter is A+ and I was eagerly waiting for them to finally figure out their feelings and relationship. Today Tonight Tomorrow is also very much a love letter to Seattle, and I loved exploring the city through Rowan and Neil’s eyes as they completed the class scavenger hunt. Be sure to check out my aesthetic for the book!

You Should See Me in a Crown

Looking for a fun and joyful read? You’re going to want to read You Should See Me in a Crown! Leah Johnson hit it out of the park with this debut. The main character Liz immediately stole my heart with her determination to achieve her goals (even if that means needing to run for prom queen to win a scholarship!), take care of her family, and stand up against racist and homophobic prom traditions at her school. Her romance with Mack was so sweet and cute, and I loved all of the friendships. This book is perfect for fans of the musical The Prom!

Tweet Cute

If you’re a fan of rom-coms, you are going to want to read Emma Lord’s Tweet Cute right away! This books is freakin’ adorable, and I instantly fell in love with Pepper and Jack. Their banter is so delightful, and I loved how the Twitter war unfolded and how the two grew closer through it. This book also touches on family expectations and high school burnout, which is a very relevant experience. Plus, it was so fun reading about all of Pepper’s delicious desserts—now I want to bake all of her creations. Be sure to check out my aesthetic for the book!
