Review: Dreamer

Dreamer is the adventure-packed sequel to L.E. DeLano’s Traveler! Since this is a review of the second book (maybe even conclusion?) to this series, I am going to try to keep to minimum spoilers, but beware that a few might slip through!

It’s been 6 weeks since the end of the first book and since (spoiler: Jessa’s Finn died). Jessa has been throwing herself into assignment after assignment trying to distract herself, but she’s still feeling the pain from this lost. But now Mario believes it’s time for Jessa to move on and sends her on a mission where she runs into a new Finn…and freezes. Tessa decides she’s down with traveling, but then Eversor reappears again promising to kill everyone Jessa loves before killing her off. Now Jessa’s back and ready to get to work to stop Rudy and Eversor for good. However. after she decide’s this Mario sends Pirate Finn to her reality so he can protect her…and so she can keep an eye on him.

One thing I appreciated right away was the explanation as to why the Travelers need to go to other realities and make changes instead of just making changes in their own. The answer is because they are too invested in their own reality and need to stay out of other people’s businesses—they just need to make the tiny change and let the bigger ripple occur on it’s own.

I liked learning more about the traveling process and the different realities. I also really enjoyed seeing more of Danny and Ben. Tessa grows more throughout the novel as she learns more about traveling, and I enjoyed seeing her character growth! The pacing of the novel was great, and I like how short the chapters are as it kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to read the next chapter.

Overall, fans of the Traveler will love this adventurous sequel! I look forward to L.E. Delano’s next novel!

This thrilling sequel to Traveler doles out adventure and heartbreak in equal measure as it takes readers through a kaleidoscope of intricately crafted worlds of wonder, discovery, and danger.

You’re still you no matter where you go.

Jessa has learned the hard way that traveling to alternate dimensions isn’t all delicious, glittering desserts and fancy parties: it also means accidentally running into people she thought she’d never see again. Still mourning a devastating loss, Jessa isn’t really prepared for the arrival of a reckless version of someone she once loved who is now bent on revenge. Add an increasingly complicated relationship with her best friend Ben, the reappearance of an old enemy, and the threat of the multiverse collapsing, and Jessa’s got a lot on her plate. She may be destined to help save an infinite multitude of worlds…but in the end, all Jessa really wants to do is save her friends.

In Dreamer, the young adult fantasy follow up to Traveler, author L. E. DeLano delivers a gripping, emotional story that will leave readers on the edge of their seat.
