On the fourth day of YA book recommendations, I’m recommending a heartfelt contemporary novel!
Friendship breakups can be so HARD, and I loved how Ashley Woodfolk explored this kind of loss in When You Were Everything. Told through dual timelines, we follow Cleo as she navigates her life after she loses her best friend and go back to the past to watch how their relationship fell apart. This story is a spotlight on an important type of relationship that hurts a lot when it ends—something most teens and adults can relate to. If you’ve ever lost a close friend, you’re going to want to add this heartfelt novel to your TBR.
Find the book: Goodreads, Bookshop, Barnes & Noble, Amazon

Yes! This one is also on my list of books I wanna read; friendship breakups are indeed the worst (lived way too many time), especially if it’s someone you’ve actually grown with
The other one that I’ve ever read like that was We used to be friends, by Amy Spalding
I hope you love this one—it was so good. We Used to Be Friends is in my tbr!
