Wanting to explore novels in verse? Long Way Down is the place to start! It is such a stunning, haunting story that will stay in your mind for many days. The whole story takes place within 60 seconds as Will takes an elevator ride down and decides whether or not he will avenge his brother’s death and continue the cycle. It’s fast, raw, and absolutely brilliant.

Long Way Down is still one of the most powerful books I’ve ever read. This year The Canyon’s Edge by Dusti Bowing is a novel in verse I keep recommending. I also loved The Truth Project and all of Kwame Alexander’s books. I’m about to start Starfish tonight.
