Review: City Spies Mission Manhattan

City Spies 5 Review

City Spies has been a favorite middle grade series of mine over the last few years, and the fifth book delivers! Stakes are HIGH for the team as they are thrown into a mission with a bombing and kidnapping.

One of my favorite aspects of this series is the settings as James Ponti does a fantastic job immersing the reader at each location. In this installment, we’re taken to Venice, London, Washington D.C., and Manhattan as the team tries to thwart a criminal group’s next kidnapping.

As the stakes grow ever higher, we see how true of a found family these kids are as they stick by and support each other. Their unique skills blend together so well and make them a stronger unit.

This series is so fun and not to be missed! I will be eagerly awaiting the next book after that reveal on the last page.

And in case you missed it, read my interview with the author here!

In this fifth installment in the New York Times bestselling series from Edgar Award winner James Ponti, the young group of spies take on New York City in another international adventure perfect for fans of Spy School and Mrs. Smith’s Spy School for Girls.

The City Spies head to the Big Apple when a credible threat is made to a young climate activist who is scheduled to speak in front of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly. With Rio acting as alpha and a new member in their ranks, the team’s mission to protect a fellow teen takes them on an exciting adventure in, around, and even under the greatest city in the world as they follow leads to the outer boroughs, the UN Headquarters, and even the usually off-limits stacks that extend deep under the main branch of the New York Public Library.
