Week 2 of ARC August has come to an end, and I was able to read two more books this week!
I read Kara Thomas’s Little Monsters last month and loved it, so I was excited to read her first psychological thriller, The Darkest Corners! To be honest, I really don’t know why it took me so long to pick up this ARC—I really enjoy mysteries/thrillers and this was no exception. I guess I just need to be in the mood for this kind of book and haven’t really until now. Anyway, The Darkest Corners was an excellent mystery! Full review to come soon!
The next book I read was Cate Cameron’s Breakaway! Breakaway is the fourth book in the Corrigan Falls Raiders series. I have had this series sitting in my kindle TBR for a while now, but haven’t gotten around to it until I was approved for an e-ARC of Breakaway. I ended up really enjoying it and plan to read the rest of the series later this fall. Full review to come soon, but I definitely recommend it for fans of Miranda Kenneally’s sports romances.
This sounds like so much fun. Is it just books you received as ARCs or books that currently aren’t out?
ARC August is a reading challenge run by Read Sleep Repeat (this is the 5th year) that’s dedicated to reading ARCs all month long! It doesn’t matter if they’ve already been released —it’s just about cracking down on your ARC TBR pile!
I’ve been on the worst reading slump for almost a month and I just now read 3 books back to back, The Darkest Corners sounds interesting and I might try it!
I hope you enjoy it if you do end up trying it! Which 3 books did you read that helped you get out of your reading slump?
I’m not participating but I am glad to see it is going so well for you so far!
Thanks, Olivia! 🙂
I wish i’d seen this challenge earlier, i need to reduce loads from my ARC pile. I hope you manage to get through a good amount, sounds like youve made a good start.
There’s still time left! You could definitely still participate if you wanted!
