2019 in Review

Today’s the last day of 2019 (and of the decade 😱), so that means it’s time to wrap up the year! Personally, I started off the year as a bookseller and then left over the summer to earn a certificate in publishing from the Denver Publishing Institute. This was an amazing experience and confirmed for me that working in children’s marketing is where I’m meant to be—here’s to making that dream come true in 2020!

On the blogging side, I’ve worked hard to continue to grow The Heart of a Book Blogger and my bookstagram account @theheartofabookblogger. I was able to meet a bunch of bloggers I interact with daily for the first time at Yallwest this year, so that was definitely a highlight! I also hosted a bunch of author interviews and guest posts this year and look forward to hosting more in 2020.

My reading life changed dramatically this year as I started listening to audiobooks on a regular basis this past September and will be finishing the year with 22 audiobooks listened to. I’ve loved that this has given me a chance to explore backlist titles that I otherwise probably wouldn’t have read this year. I also started reading graphic novels (16 read this year) and plan to explore more next year. If you have any good audiobook or graphic novel recommendations, let me know in the comments!

And now, as we wrap up the year, I want to share my favorite reads of 2019!

Here’s to an amazing 2020! Happy New Year, everyone!
