A Day in the Life: Brooding YA Hero

In celebration of Brooding YA Hero‘s release, I have author Carrie DiRisio on the blog today as a part of the Sunday Street Team’s blog tour. If you were ever curious about the life of an author, you are in luck because Carrie is sharing her daily schedule with us today!

A Day in the life of Carrie Ann DiRisio

6am: Wake up. Yoga/coffee. If I’m good, I’ve made my coffee the night before and the timer has gone off, making me more motivated to get out of be because I can smell the sweet sweet smell of caffeine.

6:30-7:30am: Write! This is my favorite time of day. It’s quiet, and often dark, so it’s just me and my words.

7:30-745am: Get ready for day job. Wonder why I have no matching socks. Order socks from Amazon.

8am: Dash out the door, catch the train. Train ride: edit what I’ve written.

8:30-6pm: Day job!

6pm: Exercise time or laundry or other household tasks. It’s really important for me to squeeze and exercise time I think it’s a really great form of self care and I get some of my best ideas on 5 to 7 mile runs.

7-8pm: Marketing promo and book-related tasks. Not that I’m complaining it’s very exciting to have a book out in the world!

8-10pm: Schoolwork! I’m currently in an MBA program, so I have class two nights a week.

10-11:30pm: Answering any leftover emails. Someday I think one of the 87 years old I will finally have an inbox of zero I look forward to that day.

11:30pm: Preparing lunch for the next day, household tasks, shower.

1am: Bed.

Ever wished you could receive a little guidance from your favorite book boyfriend?
Or maybe you’re just really confused about what “opal-tinted, luminous cerulean orbs” actually are?

Well, popular Twitter personality @broodingYAhero is here to help as he tackles the final frontier in his media dominance: writing a book. Join Broody McHottiepants as he attempts to pen Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me, a “self-help” guide (with activities–you always need activities) that lovingly pokes fun at the YA tropes that we roll our eyes at, but secretly love.

As his nefarious ex, Blondie DeMeani, attempts to thwart him at every turn, Broody overcomes to detail, among other topics, how to choose your genre,  his secret formula for guaranteed love triangle success, and how to make sure you secure that sequel, all while keeping his hair perfectly coiffed.
