What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to remember all of the book boyfriends?

The First: Frank Hardy

You know what they say, you’ll never forget your first. And this is absolutely true. The honor of being my first fictional crush goes to none other than Frank Hardy. I fell hard for him before I even knew fictional crushes were a thing. I shipped him and Nancy Drew together before I knew what shipping was and that others did it as well.

Latest Addition: Merik Nihar

Prince Merik of Nubrevna is the newest boyfriend to be added to my every growing list. I fell hard for this sea-sailing, windwitch, and I am impatiently awaiting for the next novel to soak up some more of Merik.

If We Were a Movie: Bellamy Blake

If We Were a Movie, aka the Book -> Movie/TV Adaptation, of course goes to Bellamy Blake. I mean, it’s Bellamy we’re talking about here. Need I say more?

clockwork angel - theheartofabookbloggerAbove All Others: William Herondale

I have a lot of book boyfriends. This post doesn’t even cover half of the boys I have swooned over and adored. So to say that Will Herondale is at the top of my book boyfriends list is a major deal.

siege and storm - theheartofabookbloggerThe Snarky One: Nikolai Lanstov

Nikolai’s the snarky prince that you can’t not love. I mean, really, how can you not fall for Nikolai’s charm? There’s many crushable guys in The Grisha trilogy, but Nikolai was the one to steal my heart.

The Sweet One: Maxon Schreave

I’m a fan of the dark, mysterious, and snarky princes, but Maxon stole my heart with his kindness. I just love his sweetness and light-hearted nature so much.

The Sexy One: Aaron Warner

I loved watching Warner shed his layers and develop into a deeper character. He feelings for Juliette are so real and lovely. All I can say is that Juliette is one lucky girl.

THE WRATH AND THE DAWN-theheartofabookblogger

The King: Khalid

The Wrath and the Dawn was my best read of 2015, and I would be lying if I said Khalid played no part in making it the best. The romance in this book was incredible, and I couldn’t help but fall for Khalid as Shahrzad did, even though I knew I shouldn’t.

The High School Crush: Ryan Stone

Katie McGarry sure knows how to write swoon-worthy guys. I really do love each and every guy she has written, but Ryan is definitely my favorite of them all. West and Logan both make for a close second and third.

The Boy Next Door: Jack Goodwin

Miranda Kenneally is another author who writes some pretty amazing guys. Jack is my favorite of her main guys. I loved watching his layers peel back from the cocky, popular guy and into the sweet one who helped Savannah follow her dreams.

The Childhood Friend: Peter Kavinsky

Peter K. is another one of this cocky, popular guys with a heart of gold. His sweetness shines through by helping Lara Jean out and genuinely liking to spend time with her family.

The Nerdy One: Cricket Bell

Stephanie Perkins’ three main love interests are all swoon-worthy in their own rights. I would love to combine all three guys, but if I must choose, I believe Cricket is my favorite. I just love how quirky and nerdy and sweet he is so much.

The Best Friend: W.W. Hale the Fifth

If I was Kat, I too would fall for my best friend. Hale is one swoon-worthy guy. I know I’ve said this a lot, but I really can’t help but fall for his charming, debonair attitude.

The Southern Sweetheart: Liam Stewart

Liam’s sweet southern charm cannot be ignored. His selflessness and just general goodness is wonderful. I’m just sayin’, I wouldn’t mind him callin’ me Darlin’ one little bit. 😉

  • YES! So many of these guys are swoony and there many on this list I haven’t met (all the contemporaries listed) but I love book boyfriends. Some of my top book boyfriends are Hector from The Girl of Fire & Thorn trilogy, Black Knight from The Orphan Queen and John from The Witch Hunter.

Nikolai for sure from Grisha! He was such a fantastic character in that series. Perhaps my favorite. Great picks and great post!

    • I haven’t read any of those books yet, though I own an e-copy of The orphan Queen and a hardcopy of The Witch Hunter! I’m definitely excited to get to those in my TBR pile now that I know they include some of your top book boyfriends! <3

    • I would love it if you made your own list! Just link me to it so I can see! 🙂 *hides face* I never read Anne of Green Gables. I received a boxed set as a gift a few years ago, but I haven’t had the chance to get to them yet. Maybe this summer I’ll be able to read them when I have more free time!

  • Ahh, this is a great list! You mentioned some of my personal favourites, like Khalid and Peter Kavinsky! (Did you hear that there’s going to be a third Lara Jean book?)
I haven’t read any of the Stephanie Perkins books, but I love nerdy love interests?? I guess I should read it sometime so I can read about Cricket!

    • OMG, I totally heard about the 3rd Lara Jean book and I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Perkins’ books are some of my favorite contemporary romances, so I hope you enjoy them when you get the chance to read them! 🙂
