The Hamilton Book Tag

Ikon

I’m seeing Hamilton in exactly one month from today, and I couldn’t be more excited. To celebrate, I’m doing the Hamilton Book Tag by Maureen Keavy. Huge thanks to Liv @ Liv’s Bookish Life for tagging me!

1. THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS: A book world you would put yourself in

Besides going with the obvious Harry Potter world, I am going to say Ally Carter’s world of Gallagher Girls. I’m currently watching the tv series Covert Affairs and it is making me want to reread this series so badly. I mean, who wouldn’t love to go to a spy school? Plus, there’s Zach 😉

2. THE SCHUYLER SISTERS: An underrated female character

I loved reading Summer of Sloane, but I rarely see anyone talk about this book! I was hooked from the beginning and loved how Sloane punched her soon to be ex-boyfriend in the face!

3. MY SHOT: A character that goes after what they want and doesn’t let anything stop them

There is no sugar-coating Kate’s need for vengeance in Vengeance Road. Seriously, nothing is going to stop her or get in her way of avenging her father’s death.

4. STAY ALIVE: A character you wish was still alive

I won’t spoil who dies, but I will say there are a couple characters I wish were still alive in The Darkest Minds series.

5. BURN: The most heartbreaking end to a relationship you’ve ever read

No spoilers, but the end of Strange and Ever After wrecked me. I made my high school best friend read this series after I finished it, and she has since been wary of every book I recommend.

6. YOU’LL BE BACK: The sassiest villain

Is Warner still considered a villain? If he is, he’s definitely the sassiest villain! I’m so happy that we’ll get to see him again in the new The Shatter Me books!

7. THE REYNOLDS PAMPHLET: A twist you didn’t see coming

I will say I did not see the twist that came at the end of the third book of Jennifer Lynn Barnes’s The Naturals series nor the conclusion of the fourth book. What an ending!

8. NON-STOP: A series you marathoned

I actually try to marathon through most of the series I read or else I can’t remember anything by the time the next book is released. One of the longest series I’ve marathoned through was Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy! After finishing the six books in the series, I went on to read the four books (all that was out at the time) of the spinoff-series, Bloodlines! How’s that for marathoning?

9. SATISFIED: Favourite book with multiple POVs

Code Name Verity is one of my all-time favorite books, so I have to mention it here somewhere! Both POVs in it are heartbreakingly beautiful, and I adore this book so much.

10. WHO LIVES, WHO DIES, WHO TELLS YOUR STORY: A book that will live on forever

How can I choose anything about the story about The Boy Who Lived? There are definitely other books that will live on for a long time, but none quite like Harry Potter.

BONUS QUESTIONS:

HELPLESS: A relationship you were pulling for from the very start

I began shipping Safi and Merik the moment they first crossed paths! I had heard so much about their slow burn romance, and I definitely hopped on board right away.

WHAT COMES NEXT: A series you wish had more books

There needs to be more books in The Fixer series! There are still so many questions that need to be answered after the end of The Long Game, and I hope Jennifer Lynn Barnes will continue this series one day.

RIGHT HAND MAN – Favorite BROTP

Definitely Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices…I mean is that even a question?

WHAT’D I MISS: A book or series you were late to reading

I read Harry Potter pretty late (after all the movies were released), but since I’ve already used that I’ll go with The Mortal Instruments. I began reading this series shortly after the movie was released after my friend recommended that I read it. All of the books (+ The Infernal Devices trilogy) except for City of Heavenly Fire were released when I read it so I was able to binge-read this series.
