Scarlet and Cress by Marissa Meyer — 5 stars
I began the month by finishing Scarlet and Cress from Marissa Meyer’s the Lunar Chronicles. This series has rapidly made its way on to my favorites list, and I’m very excited for Winter this fall.
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart — 5 stars
After those, I read the short We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. I don’t know what I was expecting from it, but it was nothing what I had in mind. It was a great little thriller with an unreliable narrator that kept me on the edge of my seat until the final reveal at the end.
Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch — 5 stars
Snow Like Ashes by Sarah Raasch was next, and it was fantastic. I even featured it as one of my Friday Favorites and you can read the full review here.
The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead — 4 stars
After, I read the conclusion to Richelle Mead’s Bloodline series, The Ruby Circle. It was a good conclusion that wrapped up the series very nicely.
Matched by Ally Condie — 3.5 stars
Next, I read Ally Condie’s Matched. I liked parts of this book, but because of the writing style, I wasn’t really able to connect with the characters that well. I will probably end up finishing the series eventually, but for now, I have other books I’d rather read.
Fairest by Marissa Meyer — 5 stars
Fairest by Marissa Meyer is the prequel to the Lunar Chronicles and lot shorter than the other three books in the series. I enjoyed learning more about Queen Levana. Some might be hesitant to read her story because they do not want to feel remorse for the bad guy, but I thought it was interesting reading about her background and I still think she’s evil.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard — 5 stars
My last read from this month was Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I loved reading this book, and it definitely lives up to all the expectations. You can read my full review here.
