Fire Falling by Elise Kova — 4 stars
Fire Falling
is the second book in the Air Awakens series, and it picks up right where Air Awakens leaves off. I ended up really enjoying the new minor characters in Fire Falling, and I loved watching Vhalla and Aldrik’s relationship progress and deepen. Fire Falling is a great sequel to Air Awakens, and I think I liked it even better than the first! I can’t wait to read the rest of books in this series! Full review here.

One Paris Summer by Denise Grover Swank — 4 stars
One Paris Summer
was such a fun and enjoyable read. I was able to visit Paris last summer and I loved that I was able to recognize and picture all of the places Denise Grover Swank wrote about. One Paris Summer is a cute summer romance and a sweet coming of age story. I recommend it for fans of Stephanie Perkins’ Anna and the French Kiss! Full review here.

The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes — 5 stars
Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ The Naturals series is one of my favorites, so I was excited when I heard that her next series was a political thriller. I bought the novel right away after it was released, but waited until the sequel was out before I started. Oh man, I’m glad I waited so that I could binge read both books together, but at the same time, I wished I read it sooner. The Fixer was an amazing read, and I want need more YA books like this one.

Map of Fates by Maggie Hall — 4 stars
I read The Conspiracy of Us last year after it was released. I had high expectations for it as I have a love for international thrillers and romances. Even though The Conspiracy of Us didn’t meet all of them, it was still a fun, enjoyable read. Map of Fates was a great sequel, and I definitely liked it more than I did The Conspiracy of Us. My only regret is that I wished I had read the novels closer together as there were parts that I completely blanked on from the first book as I was reading the second. I can’t wait for the last installment!

And I Darken by Kiersten White — 4.5 stars
I loved reading And I Darken and was so impressed by it. About half of the novel takes place during Lada and Radu’s childhood. This backstory was a little slow, but it is so necessary to understand the characters’ later motives. The story starts picking up when they get into their teen years, and I loved how much the plot focused on politics. Where Lada was fierce and cruel, Radu was timid and soft-spoken and was able to use his likability to become a spy in the court. It was heartbreaking watching Lada make decisions she thought were the best way to protect Radu and Radu interpreting them as her not loving nor caring about him. I highly recommend this book, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment! Full review here.

The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes — 5 stars
The Long Game
is the sequel to The Fixer, and it was just as amazing. I didn’t know how Jennifer Lynn Barnes would be able to top The Fixer, but she did. Stakes are raised in The Long Game, and Tess and Ivy are forced to take on a terrorist organization. I love all the characters that Barnes has created and their interactions together are perfect. I guessed one of the major plot twists early on in The Fixer, but I did not see any of The Long Game‘s twists coming. The Long Game was an incredible, and even shocking, sequel.

  • I’ve only read The Fixer so I’m happy to see that The Long Game is just as good! I was worried about it not living up to par with the first book. I think that’s why I haven’t read it yet, lol. I think I will now that you and a whole bunch of other bloggers have been raving about it so much. 🙂

  • I haven’t read any of the books you read in June! But I’ve been seeing so many things about And I Darken, so I think I definitely need to get on that. #Commenting365
