Today’s post is a little different as I’m sharing my experience at the Downton Abbey High Tea I attended yesterday! Before I begin, I want to give a huge thank you to Focus Features for inviting me! I’m such a huge fan of Downton Abbey and was beyond excited to attend this event in celebration of the new film, which is in theaters on September 20th.
As a member of the media, I was able to access the Downton Abbey High Tea Experience an hour early before it was opened to the public. I was also allowed a plus-one so I brought my mom along (who is also a fan of the show) and we dressed up for the occasion.
We showed up not really knowing what to expect other than that there would be tea—what we got was so much more! There of course was tea—lots of iced tea choices as it was so hot outside—and some delicious treats to snack on.
The area was beautifully designed with tables full of cute flower arrangements in tea pots. Actors were hired to be there and they were all dressed up in fancy outfits from the time period. It was fun interacting with them as they really took on that era!
There were also a bunch of interactive stations that we were able to visit. We created our own loose-leaf tea blend, made a bouquet of flowers, had our silhouettes drawn, and played croquet. What a fun morning! I am so glad I was able to attend and cannot wait to see the film this weekend!
