12 Days of YA Book Recommendations: Day 1 – Fantasy

December 13, 2018

On the first day of YA book recommendations, I’m sharing a fantasy series!

Kingdom of Ash and Briars is the perfect fantasy novel for fans of fairytales. While it’s not a strict retelling, the story is inspired by the tales of Sleeping BeautyCinderella, and Mulan. Hannah West seamlessly blends these different stories together to create a world full of magic, politics, and war. A companion novel, Realm of Ruins, was recently released and pulls from a new set of fairytales, one of which is Beauty and the Beast.

I didn’t know much about this book until this post. I really like the cover of it a lot. Both of them are so well done. I am excited to check this out.

This book seems so cool! The fact that it combines themes from those three fairytales is awesome, definitely adding it to my TBR! I can’t wait to see what other recs you give 🙂
